About NIU Continuing and Professional Education

Northern Illinois University's Office of Continuing and Profession Education (NIUCPE) is a one-stop-shop for non-credit programming for all ages, from K-12 to lifelong learners. We create, plan and manage academic conferences, summer camps, test-prep courses, professional development for Illinois teachers, workshops for career enhancement, and more, for educators, working professionals, students at all levels, alumni and community members.

As part of the university’s program prioritization, NIUCPE was created as a new, centralized unit working for all NIU colleges and centers while also exploring opportunities and partnerships with companies and organizations outside of the university. Previously, each college had their own unit.

Because there is typically a cost to our programming, we seek donations so that we may offer scholarships to individuals in need for our non-credit programs. You can donate to our non-credit scholarship fund using the donation feature on our website.

If you have any questions, let us know. We look forward to working with you and the community as we expand NIU’s external educational offerings.
